AI Hackathon Unboxed by PwC Greece will bring talented students from the Univercity of Macedonia to tackle real-world challenges across diverse industries.

Objectives:

  • Foster innovation and practical AI applications.
  • Strengthen partnerships with academia and the tech community.
  • Deliver impactful solutions that can be piloted quickly.

Setup:

  • 5 Teams of 5 Students from Bachelors and Masters programs in Business Analytics and Applied Informatics.
  • Each team will use Microsoft Azure components to design and implement their product.
  • Contest facilitation by Analytics & AI Hub PwC employees.

        Aegis

        "1st Place Winners"

        Our solution focuses on immediate intervention to rescue vulnerable groups in cases of natural disasters. Aegis solves the biggest problem of rescue operations: the inability to quickly locate vulnerable citizens in the chaos. By utilizing devices provided to vulnerable individuals, authorities can use Aegis to locate them immediately in the event of a crisis. Our platform provides a Live Map Dashboard with the locations of citizens in danger, as well as the centers of the disaster, offering authorities a comprehensive picture. It combines existing operational processes with technologies such as artificial intelligence and geolocation, so that rescuers know precisely who is really in danger. The result is a drastic reduction in response time and an increase in the rate of successful rescue, helping to save more lives.

        Outfit_Buddy

        Outfit_buddy is a complete, intelligent solution that redefines the way modern people manage their daily clothing choices. The user enters their wardrobe through photos and the application analyzes the characteristics of the clothes, while learning their personal style from selected favorite outfits. Combining this information with weather and calendar data, outfit_buddy automatically suggests, through natural dialogue, outfits fully adapted to the needs and circumstances of the day, reducing the cognitive load and stress caused by repeatedly making small but demanding decisions.

        At the same time, the application features a purchase suggestions section that intelligently complements the user’s wardrobe, while the “Your Impact” function enhances sustainability by identifying which clothes remain unused and suggesting nearby charities to give them a new life.

        In this way, outfit_buddy is not just a tool for stylistic choices, but a digital ally that saves time, energy and contributes to a more conscious, balanced and sustainable everyday life.

        Talos

        "3rd Place Winners"

        Our Talos platform is a comprehensive, automated solution that simplifies the Extrajudicial Mechanism process from both the citizen and the auditor’s side. The citizen easily uploads the required supporting documents, the system identifies errors and immediately creates a complete, organized file, automatically informing him about the progress of the submission. On the other hand, the auditor receives the file ready and receives an automated settlement proposal with a calculation of risk, dose and duration based on the Official Government Gazette (The platform also offers a smart support mechanism where the user can submit any question, the system automatically refers to the corresponding Official Gavernment Gazette and returns an accurate, documented answer in real time), while he can approve, recommend or reject it. In this way, the platform reduces time, errors and costs, offering a safe, fast and efficient experience for everyone.

        Aleck Alexopoulos

        Senior Research Scientist at CERTH and co-founder of RespiBit Ltd.

        Aleck Alexopoulos is a Chemical Engineer (PhD Purdue, PostDoc MIT) with 30 years research experience at CERTH in polymers, drug delivery, and computational simulations of physiology circulatory systems, biodevices, environmental monitoring, human movement and functional capacity, as well as chronic and infectious respiratory diseases. AA is also a serial entrepreneur with RespiBit Ltd being his second startup. AA also contributes to the startup community as a volunteer judge and mentor and assists investors in a technology advisory capacity.

        Vangelis Misirlis

        Data and AI Solution Engineer at Microsoft

        Specialized in Data & AI workloads, with expertise in modern data platform architectures, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Purview Data Governance. Focused on enabling enterprise customers to modernize analytics, integrate SAP and Oracle systems, and drive innovation through secure, scalable cloud solutions.
