AI Hackathon Unboxed by PwC Greece will bring talented students from the Univercity of Macedonia to tackle real-world challenges across diverse industries.

Objectives:

  • Foster innovation and practical AI applications.
  • Strengthen partnerships with academia and the tech community.
  • Deliver impactful solutions that can be piloted quickly.

Setup:

  • 5 Teams of 5 Students from Bachelors and Masters programs in Business Analytics and Applied Informatics.
  • Each team will use Microsoft Azure components to design and implement their product.
  • Contest facilitation by Analytics & AI Hub PwC employees.

Aleck Alexopoulos

Senior Research Scientist at CERTH and co-founder of RespiBit Ltd.

Aleck Alexopoulos is a Chemical Engineer (PhD Purdue, PostDoc MIT) with 30 years research experience at CERTH in polymers, drug delivery, and computational simulations of physiology circulatory systems, biodevices, environmental monitoring, human movement and functional capacity, as well as chronic and infectious respiratory diseases. AA is also a serial entrepreneur with RespiBit Ltd being his second startup. AA also contributes to the startup community as a volunteer judge and mentor and assists investors in a technology advisory capacity.

Data and AI Solution Engineer at Microsoft

Specialized in Data & AI workloads, with expertise in modern data platform architectures, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Purview Data Governance. Focused on enabling enterprise customers to modernize analytics, integrate SAP and Oracle systems, and drive innovation through secure, scalable cloud solutions.
